The 7-4 Calgary Roughnecks head east this weekend for a pair of games that will go a long way to determining the clubs playoff picture.
On Saturday the Roughnecks visit Philadelphia's First Union Centre for a battle with the Eastern Division leading Philadelphia Wings. The Roughnecks enter the game fourth overall in the 12-team National Lacrosse League. Philadelphia, 7-5 on the season, sit just two wins away from clinching the Eastern Division with four games remaining.
In tough to catch the Northern Division leading Toronto Rock, the Roughnecks will be looking to secure one of three wildcard playoff positions. In the NLL, the three division winners plus the three teams with the best records (who do not win their division) qualify for the playoffs through the wildcard system. Currently the Roughnecks occupy the second of the three-wildcard positions.
On Sunday, the Roughnecks visit New York and the Nassua Coliseum for a battle with the 1-12, but much improved, New York Saints. The Roughnecks defeated New York 12-8 in their last game on March 2 at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
The weekend closes the road portion of the Roughnecks schedule with the 'Riggers playing their remaining three games at home, beginning with a divisional battle when the Ottawa Rebel visit the Pengrowth Saddledome on Sunday March 30th.
