The Vancouver Ravens of the National Lacrosse League, fresh off a strong 14-9 victory over the Colorado Mammoth Sunday before 7,520 at General Motors Place, are eyeing a key showdown Friday, March 21st, against the Albany Attack.
The Attack, the 2002 NLL finalists and winners of their last four straight, come to Vancouver to meet the Ravens, Friday at 7:30 p.m. at General Motors Place. Both teams are in the playoff hunt after slow starts. The Ravens, winners of back to back games to up their record to 5-6, play Albany twice in their remaining five regular season fixtures.
?We somehow managed to avoid playing Albany in our first season, but they?re one of the teams we need to pass to make the playoffs this year,? said Dave Evans, General Manager of the Vancouver Ravens. ?They?re a tough team and we?ve got them twice. Friday is key.?
The Albany Attack finished the 2002 regular season with the best record in the NLL at 14-2 and reached the NLL final before losing to the Toronto Rock, 13-12.
The NLL playoff race, heading into Week 13 of the regular season, has shifted into high gear. The three division winners advance, along with three wildcards representing the next three best records regardless of divisional placement.
