The Vancouver Ravens of the National Lacrosse League improved their winning streak to three games last Friday when they defeated last year?s NLL finalist, the Albany Attack, 16 ? 15 in overtime. This Friday, March 28th in a 7:30 p.m. start at General Motors Place, the Ravens play their final home game of the 2002-2003 regular season, hosting the Ottawa Rebel.
The Ravens began their winning streak three weeks ago in Ottawa when they overpowered the Rebel 13-10 in front of Ottawa?s largest crowd of the year. Since then the Ravens have been on a tear at home, beating Colorado 14-9, in front of 7,520 fans at GM Place and outlasting Albany, last Friday, in front 8,423 cheering fans 16 ? 15, in overtime.
?This week is shaping up as a playoff race that will come down to the wire; with as many as six team competing for the final three berths, so we can?t take any game for granted,? said Dave Evans, General Manager of the Vancouver Ravens. ?Ottawa is a tough team with great goaltending and solid coaching. We'll need to be on top of our game.?
The NLL playoff race, heading into Week 14 of the regular season, still has a lot of unanswered questions. Although Buffalo, Toronto and Rochester have clinched playoff berths there are still six teams legitimately fighting for the final three playoff spots.
The three division winners advance, along with three wildcards representing the next three best records regardless of divisional placement.
