Gait Closes In On Season Goal Scoring Record

Colorado Mammoth forward Gary Gait has now 54 goals on the season. Gait could break his own league record for most goals in one season (57) this weekend as the Mammoth visit the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night. Gary set the current record by scoring 57 goals in the 1998 season as a member of the Baltimore Thunder.

The Mammoth have two regular season games remaining. Gait inched towards the record this past weekend, scoring two goals against the Albany Attack in a 19-16 win at the Pepsi Center. In the previous weekend, Gait scored twelve goals in two games. The Victoria, BC native scored six goals against Rochester on Friday, and added another six against New Jersey on Sunday.

Gait is averaging 4 goals per game through 13 games this season, and is on pace to finish the season with 62 goals.
