The New Jersey Storm will honor ?the fans? when it finishes its second season in the National Lacrosse League on Sunday, April 13th at 1 pm as the team battles the Vancouver Ravens at the Continental Airlines Arena.

The game has been designated ?Fan Appreciation Day? and STX Lacrosse will supply a wide assortment of shirts, hats, lanyards and other gifts that will be given to fans on their way into the arena. There will also be a number of contests for kids, three pre-lim games, a special pre-game ceremony honoring fans plus action all over the lacrosse carpet for the Storm?s final game of the 2002-2003 season.

?We really appreciate the fans that have followed the team this year,? explained Storm Governor Chip Santye. ?The indoor game is very unique and we have a great group of people supporting our team. We are especially want to thank STX Lacrosse and our others sponsors for supporting the team. We intend to build on our nucleus of young players and continue to make the indoor game a great venue for family entertainment.?

That entertainment will be demonstrated in a number of ways at the Vancouver game. Thunder, the Storm?s mascot, will celebrate his birthday and has planned a number of different events for the team?s Poncho Zones ? interactive areas in the seating sections where youngsters enjoy the game with crazy actions and contests.

The Storm will also announce the winner of its latest website contest ? ?Win a Date with the Storm Dance Team?. One lucky fan will get a chance to win tickets to the game on April 13th and spend time with the Storm Dancers at the special post-game party.

During the pre-game, a number of specially selected youngsters will be on the carpet with both the Storm players and dancers to receive special gifts from the team prior to the opening face-off.

And, of course, the season finishes off with the Pepsi Storm autograph session where the entire Storm team and Storm dancers will pose for pictures and sign autographs for the fans at the conclusion of the game.

?It promises to be a very entertaining day,? said Santye. ?We want everyone to know that the Storm appreciates all of the support it has received from the community. This is a small way for us to say ?thank you?.
