Bay Area Club Names Eastern Canadian Scout

Bay Area Professional Lacrosse Club and Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (SVS&E) announced today that the club has named Ron Chatelain, Eastern Canadian Scout and Video Coach. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

'I will bring support to the coaching staff's technical plan in relation to our opponents strengths and weaknesses offensively and defensively,' said Chatelain. 'Our team will be able to take advantage of every situation up and down the floor.'

Chatelain, 41, comes to the Bay Area Professional Lacrosse staff bringing with him over 30 years of lacrosse experience in which he has played and coached at every level. He has worked up the lacrosse coaching ranks since he began coaching Hamilton & Burlington Pee Wee - Midget Rep Lacrosse from 1988-94.

In 2002, Chatelain was the assistant coach for one of the strongest club lacrosse teams in Eastern Ontario, the Six Nations Arrows Junior 'A' Lacrosse Club in which he coached under Duane Jacobs of the Buffalo Bandits. Chatelain also served as the assistant coach for the Brampton Excelsiors Junior 'A' Lacrosse Club from 1999-01.

From 1994-96 Chatelain coached the Burlington Junior 'B' Lacrosse Club, Junior 'B' Spartans Athletic Club of St. Catharines and then was assistant coach for Burlington Junior 'A' Lacrosse Club. In 1997 Chatelain continued his furthered his coaching career as the assistant coach for the Canadian Mann Cup Finalists, Niagara Falls Senior 'A' Lacrosse Club.

Chatelain has also completed the highest level of lacrosse coaching classes, Box Three, as well as the highest level of hockey coaching classes, Advanced Two. After completing the courses he then became an Ontario Lacrosse Association Coaches Instructor, in which he is currently instructing.
