Expansion Blazers dominate Knighthawks in preseason debut

Matt Lyons scored six goals to lead the Boston Blazers past the Rochester Knighthawks, 19-9, in preseason action at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations on Saturday. The expansion Blazers got off to a hot start, grabbing a 12-7 lead at halftime.

Sean Morris, Dan Dawson, Daryl Veltman and Brenden Thenhaus each added two goals for Boston.

Mike Poulin allowed seven goals in 30 minutes, while newly-acquired Anthony Cosmo let in just two goals in the second half.


Matt Lyons, who scored nine goals in 12 games for Rochester in 2008, scored six goals against his former team in Saturday's preseason game.
