Tavares Still Tops In Career Assists

League's all-time scoring leader approaching 800 assists

Despite missing most of the first half of 2010, John Tavares continues to lead all NLL players in career regular season goals (692), points (1,469) and assists (777). Today, NLL.com looks at the updated all-time career assist leaders following the 2010 season.

Despite missing most of the first half of 2010, John Tavares continues to lead all NLL players in career regular season goals (692), points (1,469) and assists (777). Today, NLL.com looks at the updated all-time career assist leaders following the 2010 season.

The Buffalo Bandits forward dished out 28 assists in ten games for Buffalo, while increasing his regular season assist total to 777. He has a commanding one hundred and thirty-four assist lead on Colin Doyle. Doyle, of the Toronto Rock, remains in second place with 643 after posting sixty-two assist in 2010.

After Tavares and Doyle, the updated Top Ten Assist List includes Josh Sanderson (628), Gary Gait (526), Shawn Williams (520), Jim Veltman (493), Gavin Prout (481), and John Grant (461).

The two members of the Top Ten list who have switched positions are Blaine Manning of the Toronto Rock in 9th place with (449), and Derek Malawsky of the Colorado Mammoth in 10th place with (438). In 2010, Manning posted fourty-seven assist, moving him ahead of Malawsky.
