Benesch Signs 3 Year Extension With Swarm

Minnesota re-signs forward who led team in scoring in 2010

The Minnesota Swarm have announced that the team has re-signed forward Ryan Benesch to a three-year contract extension. Benesch posted 83 points (28 g, 55a) last year, tying him for ninth in the NLL in scoring. He also collected 85 loose balls for the Swarm. "We're excited to see what Ryan can do this year," General Manager Marty O'Neill said. "He plays a great role with this team on and off the field."

The Minnesota Swarm have announced that the team has re-signed forward Ryan Benesch to a three-year contract extension.

Benesch, 25, appeared in 15 games during his first season with the Swarm in 2010. The four-year player posted 83 points (28 g, 55a) last year, tying him for ninth in the NLL in scoring. He also collected 85 loose balls for the Swarm.

"We're excited to see what Ryan can do this year," General Manager Marty O'Neill said. "He plays a great role with this team on and off the field."

Last season, Benesch led the Swarm with a franchise-high 11 points (2g, 9a) in a 17-11 victory against Calgary on March 26. Benesch also broke the team's single-game assist record in the win.

The Kitchener, Ontario native began his NLL career with the Toronto Rock and was named "NLL Rookie of the Year" in 2007 after scoring 58 points (33g, 25a) in 15 games. In 58 career games, Benesch has recorded 235 points (97g, 138a) and 291 loose balls with Minnesota, Edmonton and Toronto.
