The Toronto Rock will have a strong presence on TSN & TSN2 with eleven live game broadcasts in 2012.

The 2011 National Lacrosse League Champion Toronto Rock and TSN have announced that eleven regular season National Lacrosse League Rock games will be broadcast live this season.

"I'm extremely excited to continue our relationship with TSN and TSN2," said Rock President and Owner Jamie Dawick. "Making six home and five road games available to our fans across the country is great news for the Rock and great news for the sport."

For the third consecutive season Rock fans will be able to watch the Rock at home and on the road. The Toronto Rock broadcast schedule begins with the home opener on Sunday, January 8th on TSN at 6pm against the Calgary Roughnecks as the Rock raise their sixth championship banner to the rafters at Air Canada Centre.

The following week, also on TSN, it's the renewal of a rivalry that reached a fever pitch last year as the Rock visit the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, January 14th at 7:30pm.

In addition to the first broadcast of the season, there will be three more All-Canadian matchups on the TSN2 broadcast schedule with one game against Calgary and two games against Edmonton televised. Games against Rochester and Philadelphia also highlight the TSN2 schedule. Another marquee matchup featured on TSN2 is the rematch of the 2011 Champion's Cup Final on Saturday, March 3rd as the Washington Stealth return to Air Canada Centre where they fell 8-7 in last year's title game.

"Lacrosse is a truly engaging sport for fans to watch â€" last year's dramatic final is a perfect example of the entertainment value the NLL offers," said Shawn Redmond, Vice-President of Programming, TSN. "As the reigning champion Toronto Rock gears up for another dynamic season, we're thrilled to go back to our country's roots and have Canada's national pastime featured once again on TSN, TSN2 and TSN Mobile TV."

All 11 Rock games will also be available live on TSN Mobile TV. In addition, RDS2 will have French-language coverage of Toronto Rock games from January to April (see RDS.ca for full broadcast schedule).

"The action of the NLL is extremely fast and intense as anyone would attest to that has experienced a game," explained Dawick. "TSN does an incredible job translating the emotion and pace of the game to the viewer at home. Watching the game in High Definition is the next best thing to being in the arena. We hope to continue to evolve our broadcasts as we have over the previous two seasons."
