The Colorado Mammoth announced that former transition player Josh Sims, one of the team's all-time greats, will appear on ABC's 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' tonight at 8pm Eastern. Sims and his non-profit organization, Project 911 (911nfp.org), built a house in Mardela Springs, Maryland over a span of 106 hours in just five days.
"Building the house was one of the most exciting things I've ever done," said Sims. "While it was chaotic to complete in such a short time-frame, it was truly inspiring to see how so many people can rally behind something for such a great cause, a great family, and a great community."
Sims, who played for the Mammoth from 2003-2009, began his National Lacrosse League career with the franchise in 2001. The 33-year-old recorded 89 goals and 117 assists in 123 career NLL games.
An Annapolis, Maryland native, Sims is a two-time NCAA champion (Princeton University) and won the McLaughlin Award, presented annually to the nation's top NCAA midfielder, twice. Currently a resident of Superior, Colorado, Sims will attend the Mammoth home game on Saturday, January 28 as the team honors its alumni and unveils its All-Decade Team.
