NLL shows support for Movember

The traditional playoff mustache is coming out early for a great cause. NLL players including Toronto's Josh Sanderson and Minnesota's Joe Cinosky are growing a "Mo" all month long as part of "Movember", to help raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

During his tenure with the Minnesota Swarm, defenseman Joe Cinosky has earned the nickname "Joe Knows" among his teammates and Swarm fans due to his popular video blog on the Swarm website.

This November, Cinosky will have added yet another title to his resume, "Joe Knows Mo's."

Cinosky will sport a mustache (Mo) this month in part of Movember to help raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

"What a fun opportunity to grow a mustache," Cinosky said. "You can truly see the benefits Movember has and all you have to do is grow some hair on your face to be able to support a great cause in men's health."

Swarm fans are invited to join Cinosky's Movember team by visiting MNSwarm.com

"It doesn't take much, even if it's a small donation of $5 or $20 out of your pocket to make a difference," Cinosky said.

The Toronto Rock will join others across the country and around the globe with their face grown and hand brushed mustaches.

The Rock team is led by Movember Captain Josh Sanderson along with teammates Kasey Beirnes, Stephen Hoar, Glen Bryan and Matt Roik. Some members of the Rock staff are also getting involved and fans are invited to donate and support their favorite Toronto Rock player or join the team and grow a "Mo" of their own.

On November 1st, the players began the month with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men's health.

Please visit the Toronto Rock Movember page to find out more about the cause and support the Toronto Rock Movember team.

Washington Stealth players Jeff Zywicki, Craig Conn, Chris McElroy, Matt Beers and recent draftee Brett Hickey are growing Mo's for Movember. Fans are encouraged to join the Stealth's Movember Team, which you can do by clicking here.

Rochester Knighthawks Tyler Burton and Jarrett Daviswill bring some extra "baggage" across the border when they drive to Rochesterfor Training Camp. The two second-year pros will lug their overgrown mustaches withthem as a symbol of their commitment to fight prostate cancer.

The two Knighthawks are inthe beginning stages of growing mustachesin November as part of the "Movember" campaign. The concept is simple: You areto shave everything but the upper lip for the entire month starting November 1st.

Davis joined a team thatincludes his brother, Aaron, and Calgary Roughneck Curtis Dickson. The groupraised $500 last year, but Jarrett wants to double that number this year. Forjust 66 cents per day, people can sponsor Davis to help him raise $20 this month. To donate, fans can go to www.movember.com/m/1573350. Fans can follow Davis'weekly growth via his twitter accounts at @jarrettdavis42.

Burton expects some friendlyribbing from his teammates and friends, as his facial flow expands daily. Hehopes to draw attention to his mustache to increase bidding on his Movemberpage, http://ca.movember.com/mospace/2225624/. To date, he has raised $100.
