Three teams can clinch playoff berths this weekend

Colorado needs just one win, Philadelphia & Calgary need wins and help

The Colorado Mammoth can become the first National Lacrosse League team this season to clinch a playoff berth with one win or two Washington Stealth losses this weekend.

Colorado (8-2) plays the Philadelphia Wings in a home-and-home series that starts on Friday night in Denver at the Pepsi Center, then heads to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Sunday.

Philadelphia (6-4) can clinch a postseason spot this weekend with a sweep of Colorado and two Washington losses.  

Washington (3-7) plays at Edmonton on Saturday then hosts Minnesota on Sunday. 

The Calgary Roughnecks (7-3) would head to the playoffs with a win and a pair of Washington losses. Calgary hosts Buffalo on Saturday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

 

About the 2012 National Lacrosse League Playoffs

The 2012 NLL Playoffs will begin on the weekend of May 4-6 and are scheduled to take place over three consecutive weekends.

Eight teams will advance to the playoffs. All playoff games are single-elimination, and hosted by the higher-seeded team.

The four Divisional Semifinal games will open the playoffs on the weekend of May 4-6. The winners advance to the Eastern and Western Divisional Finals on the weekend of May 11-13. The winners advance to the 2012 NLL Championship Game.

Weekend of May 18-20: Championship Game
