Many fantasy owners have been wondering what the prize will be for winning the 2012 Fantasy Lacrosse Challenge. Fans may have noticed the box teasing an award for finishing first on the league table and realized there was much more than simple bragging rights on the line this year.
With the regular season now in the books, it is time for the big unveiling.
We are happy to announce that there will actually be multiple prizes up for grabs based on team performance throughout the entire season. The fantasy team who did the best on any given week of the season will receive a $20 gift code to the new NLL store online. Perhaps your fantasy team went absolutely nuts one week and you topped the entire leaderboard. There are 17 weeks in the season so that will be a total of 17 gift code prizes given away (Note: there is a maximum of two gift codes per player).
With a wide assortment of hoodies, T-shirts, and accessories, the NLL store online is the perfect place to shop for any NLL fan no matter who your team favorite team is.
So how do these codes work? If you are one of the weekly winners, a code will be e-mailed to you that you can then use at the store by entering into the “coupon” field during checkout. Although you can place orders as a guest, it’s best to register an account at http://shop.nll.com when using one of the coupon codes so any leftover credit will be saved and automatically carried over to future orders.
The fantasy owner who managed his or her team to a first place finish when all the dust is settled will also take home a cool All-Star game prize package including autographed memorabilia.
Winners will be contacted soon via e-mail. Thanks to all who played, and be sure to check back for next year’s edition.
Fantasy Spotlight Results
The final Fantasy Spotlight of the season matched two of the top transition players as Brodie Merrill from the Philadelphia Wings faced Jordan MacIntosh from the Minnesota Swarm. Here are their Week 17 stats:
MacIntosh (vs. Colorado): two goals, four assists, and 13 loose balls for 29 fantasy points.
Merrill (vs. Rochester): two assists and 17 loose balls for 21 fantasy points.
It comes as no surprise to see both players put up over 20 fantasy points last week. MacIntosh comes out on top of this one thanks to a pair of goals, which account for the eight-point difference. His 29 points last week match the season high he posted in Week 4. The rookie gives the Swarm their third spotlight win of the season and finishes the year as the seventh-highest scoring player in all of the fantasy challenge.
