Colin Doyle moved ahead of Gary Gait into second place on the all-time career regular season points list during the 2012 season. Despite an injury-plagued season, the Toronto Rock Captain and 14-year veteran scored 59 points on 25 goals and 34 assists. This pushed his career total to 1,178 points and moved him ahead of Gary Gait (1,165) for second on the All-Time Points list. Doyle moved ahead of Gait on April 20th against Washington with a first quarter assist.
John Tavares remains the leader with 1,627. Tavares just completed his 20th season in the league and is the all-time leader in goals, assists and points.
There was additional movement within the Top 10. John Grant used and his single-season record of 116 points moved him into 4th place on the list with 1,093, ahead of Josh Sanderson (1,081). Grant trailed Sanderson by forty points (1,017 to 977) heading into the 2012 season.
Philadelphia Wings’ forward Dan Dawson makes the jump from the #10 spot to #8, passing Toronto’s Blaine Manning by scoring an impressive 103 points this season to increase his career total to 871. Also a new addition to the list this year, Lewis Ratcliff of the Washington Stealth, cracks the list at #9 all-time with 822 career points, bumping Hall of Famer Tom Marechek (773 points) out of the Top 10.
