The generosity and passion of NLL fans was demonstrated again on July 28th, as teams congregated just north of Minneapolis for the 11th Fann Cup tournament.
Nearly 100 fans of the NLL came from around North America to play for bragging rights, and to help raise money for important charitable causes. This year, the proceeds benefitted PawCorps, which trains and provides companion and service dogs to returning military service people with special needs. In addition, the Fann Cup also donated to Lax-4-Life, which is a component of the Minnesota Swarm's Native American outreach program, concentrated on returning lacrosse to the Native American communities of Minnesota. The fans raised more than $3,300, which was split between the charities.
This year's Fann Cup tournament was filled with action-packed games, with the Chicago Cloverz defending their Fann Cup title over the Rochester Krewhawks, 5-3. The combined players from Buffalo and Philadelphia took 3rd place, with other teams from the US and Canada making strong showings.
