The Colorado Mammoth announced that the team has re-signed forward Derek Hopcroft and transition player Jovan Miller to one-year agreements. Hopcroft recorded 26 points (15g, 11a) in 11 games played during his rookie season in 2012, while Miller, a first-year player, was on the practice squad.
“We saw great maturation during the season from Derek and Jovan on the field,” said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. “In training camp, we’ll see what they’ve learned during the off-season.”
Hopcroft, 26, was the NLL’s Rookie of the Week in early-March after a four-goal, one-assist performance against the Buffalo Bandits in a 16-13 road win. Miller was Colorado’s sixth-round selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft.
The team has also signed free agent transition player John Quarrie to a one-year deal.
The Mammoth open their 2013 season on January 7 with a home game at Pepsi Center against the Weshington Stealth.
