The Washington Stealth announced that veteran forward Dean Hill has signed a one-year contract for the 2013 season, pending approval by the National Lacrosse League. Hill will be entering his eighth NLL season and his second with the Stealth in 2013.

Hill, 27, was signed by the Stealth as a free agent prior to the 2012 season. He played a significant role in the Stealth offense, recording 38 points on 17 goals and 21 assists in 13 games. It was the second-highest point total of Hill’s seven-year NLL career. His 37 loose balls in 2012 was a career-high. Hill recorded a hat trick against the Minnesota Swarm on February 24, sparking a tremendous second half of the season, during which he notched at least three points in eight of the Stealth’s final nine games.

“Dean had a successful season with us last year, and should be even more of a factor in 2013,” said Stealth General Manager Doug Locker. “Dean is a proven veteran scorer whom we are counting on moving into the upcoming season.”

Hill has played for four teams (Minnesota, Rochester, Edmonton, Washington) during his NLL career. In 67 career games played, he has 184 points (96g, 88a) and 173 loose balls. He is also a two-time silver medalist with the Iroquois Nationals at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships (2007, 2011).
