The Colorado Mammoth have announced that the team has signed free agent goaltender Matt Roik to a one-year agreement. Roik has played for five teams in his 11-year career, highlighted by an NLL title with the Washington Stealth in 2010.

“Matt brings the experience of having played for a championship team to our organization,” said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. “Our intent is to improve our goaltending, and Matt will compete for a spot on our roster in [training] camp.”

Roik, 32, has a .752 career save percentage in 146 regular-season games. He played in 10 games in 2012 for the Toronto Rock, and represented the East Division in the 2012 NLL All-Star Game in February.

Colorado opens the 2013 season at home on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center on Saturday, January 12 against the Washington Stealth.
