The Toronto Rock & Rochester Knighthawks will faceoff in a National Lacrosse League preseason game in Montreal on Saturday, December 15 at 7:30pm Eastern. The preseason game will be played at Bell Centre, the home of the National Hockey League’s Montreal Canadiens.
“The National Lacrosse League looks forward to showcasing the world’s greatest lacrosse players at Bell Centre in Montreal”, said NLL Commissioner George Daniel.
The announcement was made today at a press conference at Bell Centre. Representatives from both teams are excited to take part in this game.
“Rochester is a good rival of ours,” said Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick at Wednesday’s press conference. “We look forward to coming down here on (December) 15th. I know it’s an exhibition game, but it’s an important time in our pre-season. I’ll tell you right now, we’ll be coming here to win the game.”
“I'm looking forward to bringing our best, while players compete for jobs and showcase what the NLL has to offer”, said Knighthawks head coach Mike Hasen.
Rock forward Garrett Billings, who set a new single season franchise record with 114 points in 2012, also spoke at the press conference and expressed his excitement about playing in Montreal.
“I’m looking forward to getting back at the Knighthawks,” said Billings. “There’s also a real excitement among the players about getting the chance to play in a sports city like Montreal in front of some of the best sports fans anywhere.”
