Training camps in full swing this weekend

Seven teams get camp underway

After the Edmonton Rush and Rochester Knighthawks kicked off the 2013 National Lacrosse League preseason with the opening of their training camps, seven teams started camp this past weekend.

The Buffalo Bandits opened training camp on Saturday, Dec. 1 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY. The Bandits play a preseason game against the Philadelphia Wings on Friday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m in Oakville, Ontario at Toronto Rock Athletic Centre. The exhibition game is open free of charge to the public. Seating for these games is extremely limited with less than 800 spectators being admitted.

The Calgary Roughnecks begain with a two-day camp on Saturday, Dec. 1 in Airdrie, Alberta. Sessions are closed to the public due to space limitations at the practice facility. Roughnecks preseason activity continues on the weekend of Dec. 7-9 in Langley, British Columbia. The three-day training camp includes an exhibition game on Saturday, Dec. 8 against the Colorado Mammoth at Langley Events Centre. For tickets and more information, please click here.

The Colorado Mammoth started training camp on Friday, Nov. 30 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. The Mammoth then battle the Calgary Roughnecks in a preseason game at Langley Events Centre on Saturday, Dec. 8. For tickets and more information, please click here. The Mammoth return home to Colorado on Friday, Dec. 14 for the third and final weekend of training camp. The day practice on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at Bladium Sports & Fitness Club (2400 Central Park Blvd. Denver, CO 80238) is open to the public and free of charge.

The Edmonton Rush opened training camp from Nov. 24-25 in Six Nations, Ontario. The Rush will take a weekend off then return to camp to face the Toronto Rock in a preseason scrimmage on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. The exhibition game will be open to the public with free admission. Seating for these games is extremely limited with less than 800 spectators being admitted. Training camp returns to the Edmonton area from Dec. 14-15 with sessions at the Leduc Recreation Centre.

The Minnesota Swarm opened training camp on Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. On Dec. 8, the Swarm travel to Rochester to face the Knighthawks in a free preseason game at Blue Cross Arena. For tickets and more information, please click here.

The Philadelphia Wings held their first sessions of training camp on the weekend of Dec. 1-2 at BucksMont Indoor Sports Center in Hatfield, PA. From Dec. 21-22, the Wings travel to Oakville, Ontario, for two preseason games at Toronto Rock Athletic Centre, the first against the Buffalo Bandits on Friday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. and the second versus the Toronto Rock on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. The exhibition on Dec. 22 is open free of charge to the public. Seating for these games is extremely limited with less than 800 spectators being admitted.

The Rochester Knighthawks opened camp on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Total Sports Experience in Gates, NY. The Knighthawks continue camp on Wednesday, Dec. 5 in Six Nations, Ontario before hosting the Minnesota Swarm in a free preseason game at Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, Dec. 8. The Toronto Rock opened their official training camp on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the brand new Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. The Rock will play a league-high three exhibition contests in preparation for the 2013 campaign. The Rock will host a pair of scrimmages at their new practice facility on Saturday, Dec. 8 against the Edmonton Rush and Saturday, Dec. 22 against the Philadelphia Wings. Both 7 p.m. exhibitions are open free of charge to the public. Seating for these games is extremely limited with less than 800 spectators being admitted. The Washington Stealth opened their preseason with training camp on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Soccer First in Arlington, WA and Sunday, Dec. 2 at Comcast Arena in Everett, WA. Training camp moves to the Langley Events Centre in British Columbia on the weekend of Dec. 8-9, and is open to those who have purchased tickets to the Colorado-Calgary "Battle at the LEC" exhibition on Saturday, Dec. 8. Washington's final training camp weekend will take place on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Comcast Arena.
