The Philadelphia Wings have signed forward Kevin Crowley to a one-year contract for the 2013 National Lacrosse League season.

Crowley, Philadelphia’s first overall pick in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, had a prolific rookie campaign in which he was named to the league’s All-Rookie team and Rookie of the Week three times, the most in the league. The New Westminster, B.C. native scored a team-high 36 goals and added 35 assists for 71 points on the season. The forward led all offensive players by recovering 81 loose balls in his first pro season and scored four goals in Philadelphia’s lone playoff game.

“Kevin is one of the top young players in the NLL and we expect him to continue where he left off last season,” said Wings head coach Johnny Mouradian. “With the additions of Kevin Buchanan and Kevin Ross on our left side, we have rounded out our offense and should give Kevin [Crowley] even more room on the right side.”

Prior to joining the Wings last season, Crowley was a standout collegiate player at Stony Brook University. During his four years at Stony Brook, Crowley scored 232 points (131+101) in 60 career games, finishing his career as one of the most accomplished players in school history. Crowley is the only player in Stony Brook's history to record 100 or more goals and assists and one of just 40 players in NCAA Division I history to accomplish the feat.

The Wings will open the 2013 regular season at home against the Buffalo Bandits at Wells Fargo Center on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 7 p.m.
