The National Lacrosse League has announced a summary of discipline for the final two scrimmages of the preseason and updates to several incidents occuring at the end of last season.

Philadelphia Wings transition player Jordan Hall has been suspended one game after being assessed a match penalty for high sticking (Rule 62.2).

In the Dec. 22 scrimmage vs. Toronto, Hall was assessed a match penalty for contact he made on Toronto transition player Jesse Gamble at the 7:51 mark of the second quarter. Hall is suspended for the Wings' season-opening game vs. Buffalo on Jan. 11. The players association has appealed the suspension, therefore Hall is currently eligible to play in the opening game.

Following the incident, Gamble was assessed a game misconduct penalty after being deemed the instigator in a fight with Hall.

In other league discipline news, Minnesota Swarm transition player Andrew Suitor and Buffalo Bandits defenseman Billy Dee Smith have both lost their appeals of two-game suspensions levied for incidents that occurred last season. Both players will sit out their teams' first two games of the 2013 season.

Suitor was suspended two games after being assessed a game misconduct for being deemed the instigator of a fight (Rule 80.2) in the Swarm’s playoff loss to Edmonton on May 12. The game misconduct was his third of the 2012 season which leads to an automatic one-game suspension (Rule 40.2). He received an additional one-game suspension for being assessed a game misconduct in his team’s final game of the season (Rule 40.4).

Smith was also suspended two games after being assessed with a third game misconduct penalty of the season. Smith was given the game misconduct for Unsportsmanlike Actions (Rule 95.13) after delivering a slash to the leg of a Toronto Rock player moments after the May 5 playoff game between the two teams had ended. The game misconduct was his third of the 2012 season, which leads to an automatic one-game suspension (Rule 40.2). He received an additional one-game suspension for being assessed a game misconduct in his team’s final game of the season (Rule 40.4).

The players association has withdrawn its appeal of the one-game suspension of Toronto Rock defenseman Scott Johnston. Johnston was suspended one game after receiving a match penalty for illegal cross-checking (Rule 63.3) for contact made with Edmonton player Jesse Fehr in a scrimmage on Dec. 8. He will serve his suspension during the Rock’s season opener at Calgary on Jan. 12.

The association has also withdrawn its appeals of the suspensions of released players Jovan Miller (Colorado) and Jesse Fehr (Edmonton) for incidents that took place during preseason scrimmages. Both players would serve a one-game suspension prior to playing for an NLL team this season or in a future season.

The league earlier announced that the association withdrew its appeal of the one-game suspension of Calgary Roughnecks forward Dane Dobbie for a game misconduct penalty he received in Calgary’s final game of 2012, a playoff loss to Edmonton on May 5. Dobbie was deemed the instigator of a fight during the game (Rule 80.2). As it was the final game of Calgary’s season, he was assessed a one-game suspension (Rule 40.4). Dobbie will sit out the Roughnecks’ season-opening game vs. Toronto on Jan. 12.
