The Colorado Mammoth have announced that the team has signed goaltender Dan Lewis (pending league approval), who split time on the Mammoth's active roster and practice squad last season, and have released veteran goalie Chris Levis.

The Mammoth (1-2) have allowed a league-high average of 16 goals per game so far in 2013. Levis has appeared in limited action in all three games this year, posting an 18.92 goals against average and a .591 save percentage. Lewis saw just 9:40 of playing time in his rookie year in 2012.

“We need more consistent play from our back-end, and, in particular, our goaltenders,” said Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. “I’m grateful to Chris for his long-term commitment to our organization, but a change was needed. This is Dan’s opportunity to prove that he can be an impact player in the NLL.”
