The National Lacrosse League has announced a summary of discipline stemming from incidents occurring during Week #4 of the 2013 NLL regular season for games played the weekend of Jan. 25-27.
Toronto Rock defenseman Chris White has been suspended one game stemming from an illegal cross check on Rochester's Casey Powell in the first quarter of their game on Saturday, Jan. 26. No penalty was called on the field, but upon league review of the incident, White has been assessed a Match Penalty for violation of Illegal Cross Checking (Rule 63.3). White has appealed his suspension and is expected to play this weekend.
In other league discipline news, Edmonton Rush defenseman Kyle Rubisch and Washington Stealth defenseman Matt Beers have each been assessed Game Misconduct penalties for incidents occurring this past weekend.
Rubisch has been assessed a Game Misconduct penalty stemming from Illegal Cross Check and Fighting incidents with Beers occurring in the second quarter of their game on Friday, Jan. 25. Two Major Penalties were called on the field, and upon league review of the incidents, Rubisch has been assessed a Game Misconduct penalty for violation of Two Majors in One Game (Rule 38.2).
Beers has been assessed a Game Misconduct penalty stemming from an elbowing incident on Minnesota's Alex Crepinsek in the first quarter of their game on Saturday, Jan. 26. A Major Penalty was called on the field and upon league review of the incident, Beers has been assessed a Game Misconduct penalty for violation of Elbowing (Rule 78.3) and Illegal Body Checking on a non-ball carrier (Rule 70.8).
