The Rochester Knighthawks continued their climb in Brian Shanahan's IL Indoor Power Rankings after Week #6 of the 2013 NLL regular season. Rochester, ranked last just two weeks ago, moved up four spots to third by getting back to .500 with two lopsided road wins this past weekend. Conversely, the Philadelphia Wings, who flew atop the rankings after Week #3, fell four spots to the bottom of the rankings after losing their third-straight game. The Knighthawks have outscored their last two opponents by a combined score of 35-17, while the Wings have been outscored 36-18 over their last two games.
"After six weeks of the NLL season, many of the 'experts' are starting to say 'I told you so,'" Shanahan writes. "Most of the preseason predictions had Calgary, Toronto and Rochester among the best of the league while not many of us were sold on Philadelphia."
3) Rochester Knighthawks (3-3) (+4)
"Last week, I called out the Rochester Knighthawks for their inability to score. They responded by scoring 35 goals in two lopsided road victories in Philly and Buffalo. Dan Dawson had his best weekend, scoring 15 points and Mike Accursi, who had been a healthy scratch a couple of times this year, showed the true pro that he. Accursi has scored in every game he’s played this year including four in Philadelphia."
9) Philadelphia Wings (2-3) (-4)
"Philly lost their third straight at home as they were blown out by the Rochester Knighthawks 20-10 in a rare Friday morning game. Philly has been outscored 36-18 in the last two games and will have next week off to regroup before they play Rochester and Colorado in two weeks."
