The Colorado Mammoth announced that goaltender Matt Roik has been released and goalie Tye Belanger has been added to the team’s 23-man active roster from the Physically Unable to Perform list, pending league approval.

The 22-year-old Belanger (6'1", 185 lbs.) played 21 minutes in 2012, stopping 15 of the 18 shots he faced. A second-round pick of the Mammoth in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, Belanger was the Canadian Junior Goalie of the Year before being drafted.

Roik posted a 2-2 record with a .720 save percentage and a 13.66 goals-against average with Colorado this season. He was signed by the Mammoth this past offseason after appearing in 10 games for the Toronto Rock in 2012.

Goaltender Dan Lewis (6'4", 180 lbs.), signed in late January coinciding with the release of former starter Chris Levis, had split time with Roik and is now the favorite to win the Mammoth's starting job in net. Lewis has appeared in three games this season with a 10.26 GAA and .800 save percentage.

“I am very confident in our young goaltending tandem," said Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. "I see them backstopping this team well into the future."
