Calgary Roughnecks transition player and ELEV8 Lacrosse president Geoff Snider has announced he will be donating 10% of proceeds from the two Summer Lacrosse Camps taking place in Calgary in July. ELEV8’s goal is to donate $5,000 to the Red Cross to assist with the flood relief efforts in Calgary and surrounding communities.
“Being born and raised in Calgary, this disaster hits home for both [my brother] and myself, as well as our [Roughnecks] organization,” said Snider, whose brother Bob plays for the Vancouver Stealth. “Seeing the selfless acts of members of the communities in Calgary and residents of Alberta was an amazing reminder of why this is such a special place to live. ELEV8 Lacrosse is committed to the growth of the community and its youth as citizens not just as student-athletes. We hope to empower and inspire our student-athletes and their families by setting a positive example, and what better way to accomplish this goal than to assist with the flood relief efforts.”
ELEV8 will also be accepting new and used lacrosse equipment to assist with the fundraising efforts of its partners at Calgary District Lacrosse Association and Chex Sports.
The ELEV8 Summer Lacrosse Camps are catered towards all skill levels of players. With the instruction from current professional players, NCAA coaches, and NCAA/collegiate players, athletes are provided the best coaching available in Canada. While participating in a fun and competitive environment, players will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to help get them to the next level in their game along with developing as a dominant hybrid lacrosse player.
