The Colorado Mammoth and Philadelphia Wings have announced a trade with Colorado sending transition player Ryan Hotaling, two second-round selections (12th and 18th overall) in the 2013 Entry Draft, and their first-round selection in the 2015 Entry Draft to Philadelphia in exchange for forward Drew Westervelt and Philadelphia's fourth-round (32nd overall) selection in the 2013 Entry Draft.

The 28-year-old Westervelt is a dominant right-handed goal-scorer who has tallied 30-plus goals in four of the past five seasons.

“Drew’s a big, dominant, and strong offensive force in the NLL,” said Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. “He has adapted extremely well to the indoor game, and will have a major impact on our offense.”

The Bel Air, Md. native graduated from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2007 as one of the school’s all-time leading scorers. The 6’5” Westervelt is the second-tallest on the Mammoth roster. He has 164 goals and 138 assists in his six-year NLL career, all with Philadelphia.

"Drew is a quality player and an even better person, and we will all miss him. However, we felt we needed to have more depth at the goaltending position and had to give quality to get quality,” said Wings newly-named head coach Blane Harrison. “We wish Drew the best of luck on his new team and look forward to the seeing the new Wings competing at camp later this fall."

Hotaling will join the Wings for his fourth pro season. The 6’2" Syracuse, N.Y. native played in five games for the Mammoth in 2013, scoring a goal and scooping 23 loose balls. Hotaling was a member of the 2011 USA Indoor Team that took home the bronze medal at the World Games in Prague, Czech Republic.
