Calgary Roughnecks general manager, alternate governor and director of business operations Mike Board has announced that the team has re-signed an additional six players in preparation for the 2014 National Lacrosse League season.

The Roughnecks have re-signed forward Matthew Dinsdale and defenseman Greg Harnett to three-year contracts and agreed to one-year deals with transition players Travis Cornwall and Curtis Manning, forward Darren Kinnear and defenceman Barclay Hickey. All contracts are pending league approval.

Manning, a native of Surrey, British Columbia, has spent his entire four-year NLL playing career with Calgary, recording 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) while collecting 214 loose balls over 43 games played. The Roughnecks selected the 26-year-old transition player in the first round, sixth overall, in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft.

Cornwall, Calgary’s first-round selection (seventh overall) in the 2011 draft, just completed his second NLL season. The 23-year-old transition player from Coquitlam, British Columbia, has registered 20 points (13 goals, seven assists) and scooped up 31 loose balls in 26 career games.

During his 2013 rookie season, Dinsdale, a 22-year-old forward, tallied one goal and one assist while collecting 22 loose balls over 13 games played.  Calgary selected the Coquitlam-native in first round, seventh overall, in the 2012 NLL Entry Draft.

Harnett, a native of Orangeville, Ontario, has appeared in 26 games over the past two seasons with Calgary, recording eight points (three goals, five assists) along with 73 loose balls over that span.  The Roughnecks drafted the 23-year-old defenceman in the second round, 11th overall, in 2011.  Last month, Calgary signed his older brother Jon Harnett to a two-year deal.

Hickey (fifth round, 42nd overall) and Kinnear (sixth round, 46th overall) were both drafted by Calgary in 2011 and were listed on the Roughnecks’ practice roster last season.
