The Calgary Roughnecks have announced that the team has re-signed veteran defenseman and assistant captain Mike Carnegie to a two-year contract as the club prepares to continue training camp this weekend.
Carnegie, who is entering his seventh NLL season, has spent his entire NLL playing career with the Roughnecks. The London, Ontario product has appeared in 94 games over the past six seasons, recording 42 points (14 goals, 28 assists) while collecting 394 loose balls over that span. The 29-year-old defenseman was a member of the 2009 NLL championship team and has posted six points (two goals, four assists) and collected 58 loose balls in 11 career playoff games.
The Roughnecks will undergo their second weekend of camp from December 6-7 at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, British Columbia. The weekend will be highlighted by a scrimmage against the Vancouver Stealth on Saturday, Dec. 7 with a 7 p.m. PT faceoff. The scrimmage is open to the public.
