The league has announced a summary of discipline stemming from the 2014 NLL preseason and the end of the 2013 season.
The National Lacrosse League has announced a summary of discipline stemming from incidents occurring during the 2014 NLL preseason.
Minnesota Swarm defenseman Jason Noble has been assessed a Match Penalty and one-game suspension for an illegal cross-checking incident on Calgary Roughnecks forward Dane Dobbie occurring at the 14:24 mark of the second quarter of their December 14 exhibition game. The Match Penalty of illegal cross-checking was assessed on the field, and upon league review of the incident, the Match Penalty is upheld for violation of Illegal Cross-Checking (Rule 63.3) which carries an automatic one-game suspension (Rule 41.2).
The PLPA has appealed the suspension and Noble is expected to play in Minnesota's season opener against the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday, Dec. 28.
In a recap of league discipline from last season that carries over into the 2014 season, current free agent and former Toronto Rock forward Scott Evans has been assessed a Game Misconduct (Rule 80.2) and one-game suspension for an incident occurring last season with Toronto on April 28 to be served if and when he is signed by an NLL team and placed on the active roster.
Buffalo Bandits defenseman Steve Priolo had a Match Penalty (Rule 62.2) rescinded after it was assessed last season on April 6 against the Minnesota Swarm. Priolo's one-game suspension has been overruled and he is eligible to play this weekend.
