The National Lacrosse League has announced a summary of discipline stemming from incidents occurring during Week 5 of the 2014 NLL regular season for games played on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Rochester Knighthawks forward Stephen Keogh has been assessed a one-game suspension stemming from an illegal cross-checking incident on Buffalo Bandits defenseman Rory Smith at the 1:20 mark of the third quarter of their game on January 25. No penalty was called on the field, but upon league review of the incident, Keogh has been assessed a Match Penalty for violation of Illegal Cross-Checking (Rule 63.3) which carries an automatic one-game suspension (Rule 41.2).

Keogh has also been assessed a Game Misconduct for a goalie interference incident on Buffalo Bandits goalie Anthony Cosmo at the 12:35 mark of the fourth quarter of their game on January 25. No penalty was called on the field, but upon league review of the incident, Keogh has been assessed a Game Misconduct Penalty for violation of Goalie Interference/Contact While Shooting On Net (Rule 69.3).

Vancouver Stealth forward Rhys Duch has been assessed a one-game suspension stemming from an illegal cross-checking incident on Edmonton Rush defenseman John Lintz at the 12:36 mark of the third quarter of their game on January 25. An Illegal Cross-Checking Major Penalty was called on the field, and upon league review of the incident, Duch has been assessed a Match Penalty for violation of Illegal Cross-Checking (Rule 63.3) which carries an automatic one-game suspension (Rule 41.2).

In other league discipline news, an arbitrator upheld the one-game suspension assessed to Vancouver Stealth defenseman Kyle Sorensen on January 6. Sorensen, who was placed on Injured Reserve on January 12, will serve suspension once he returns to the Active Roster. He is eligible to come off the IR as early as February 2.

Sorensen was assessed a one-game suspension stemming from a spearing incident on Colorado Mammoth forward Drew Westervelt at approximately the 3:24 mark of the first quarter of their game on January 4. Sorensen was assessed a Match Penalty on the field, and upon league review, the ruling was upheld for violation of Spearing (Rule 64.4), which carried an automatic one-game suspension (Rule 41.2) preceding the appeal.
