After three games in NLL Week 10, IL Indoor has posted their Three Stars of the Week. The National Lacrosse League features the best players on Earth, so choosing the top three performers each week can be a tall task, but IL's Stephen Stamp is up to the challenge.
Calgary Roughnecks forward Curtis Dickson earned the First Star after posting 10 points with six goals keying their home win against Toronto at Scotiabank Saddledome this past weekend.
"Curtis Dickson is known as 'Superman' for the fantastic flights he takes to score so many of his spectacular National Lacrosse League goals," Stamp writes. "He’s got much more than the dive in his arsenal, though, as he showed emphatically Saturday night when he scored six times as his Calgary Roughnecks got off to a fast start and held on to beat the Toronto Rock 19-13."
Curtis Dickson, Calgary Roughnecks
6 goals, 4 assists
Dickson didn’t accumulate his points in garbage time, when the Roughnecks were already well ahead. He had 4 goals and 2 assists in Calgary’s 7-0 first-quarter run as they established the lead they wouldn’t come close to relinquishing.
Stephan Leblanc, Toronto Rock
7 goals, 4 assists
Leblanc moved to within a goal of league leader Dane Dobbie, upping his total to 29 for the season. He’s also fourth in the league in points. Leblanc is taking advantage of his size and strength to create scoring situations as well as interacting smartly with his talented cohort on the Rock to find open spaces.
Stephen Keogh, Rochester Knighthawks
Keogh is on a roll. He’s got 12 goals in his last three games and scored almost half of his team’s markers as the Knighthawks downed the Mammoth to solidify their hold on second place in the East Division.
