Week 14 of the National Lacrosse League was quite memorable with history being made and non-stop action on the turf all weekend long. But it was especially significant for Philadelphia Wings rookie Garrett Thul, who had a "Gordie Howe" hat trick with a goal (plus two more), an assist and a fight in their big road win against the Colorado Mammoth. Thul's "Air Gait" dunk, where he dove from behind the net to stuff it in, was even featured on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the weekend.
Watch several takes on the highlight-reel dunk that Thul threw down below along with him dropping the mitts for a spirited scrap with Mammoth enforcer Chet Koneczny. Adding to the storyline is the fact that Thul, who played collegiately for Army Lacrosse, is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and is an active U.S. Army infantry officer.
