National Lacrosse League featured on an episode of A&E's Shipping Wars with a special delivery to the title game in Rochester.
Plenty of wheels and cameras were rolling for a special delivery during the 2014 NLL Champion's Cup Finals as the league was featured on the Shipping Wars reality TV show in an episode that premiered on the A&E channel earlier this week.
Follow the journey of the Champion's Cup trophy from the league offices in New York City to the title game at Blue Cross Arena where the Rochester Knighthawks won their league-record third-straight NLL title by defeating the Calgary Roughnecks before a raucous home crowd.
In the episode titled "Do No Bodily Harm", truckers bid for the transport job that requires the trophy and other items to arrive in time for the championship game. Two of the main characters on the show, shippers Todd and Tamera, discover the hardest part of their day is simply escaping the streets of New York City. Can they keep their eyes on the prize or will they lose lots of fans?
NLL Commissioner George Daniel makes a cameo in the show, which was filmed at the end of May, by coordinating the shipment while entrusting the drivers with the responsibility of delivering the league's most coveted prize in time for the big game. But the delivery didn't end at the loading dock in the depths of the arena. The shippers even followed the Cup onto the field during the thrilling post-game celebration and trophy presentation.
Stay tuned for the re-airing of the show on television including the first re-air on Sunday, July 20 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Fans can view the episode on A&E's website here: http://www.aetv.com/shipping-wars/video/do-no-bodily-harm
