The National Lacrosse League has announced that the Edmonton Rush have extended qualifying offers to forwards Jarrett Davis and Corey Small along with defenseman Brett Mydske. The offers before the July 31 deadline ensure that the three players will avoid restricted free agency when the signing period opens on August 1.
While the Rush are the only NLL team without any unrestricted free agents, six players on the Rush roster enter free agency as restricted free agents including forward Cory Conway, defensemen Nik Bilic, Jeff Cornwall, John Lafontaine and John Lintz, and goaltender Tyler Carlson.
Carlson was recently acquired from the Minnesota Swarm in an offseason trade which sent goalie Brodie MacDonald to the Swarm along with Edmonton's third-overall pick in the 2014 NLL Draft in exchange for Carlson and the first overall selection in this year's draft.
