The Calgary Roughnecks have announced the re-signing of starting goaltender and restricted free agent Mike Poulin to a two-year contract. The veteran goalie helped lead the Roughnecks to the West Division title en route to the NLL Champion's Cup Finals last season.

Poulin, who is entering his ninth season in the NLL, was acquired by the Roughnecks in a 2010 trade. The 28-year-old played in 18 regular season games in 2014, registering a .770 save percentage and ranked second among NLL goaltenders with 602 saves.

Poulin appeared in all seven playoff games during the Roughnecks’ bid for the 2014 Champion’s Cup, posting a .752 save percentage. In 2014, the Kitchener, Ontario product became the Roughnecks’ all-time leader in minutes played by a goaltender with 3,946, surpassing Curtis Palidwor.

Poulin has played in 141 career NLL games, posting an 11.67 GAA, and a .765 save percentage. The netminder was named the 2012 NLL Goaltender of the Year.

Poulin qualified as a restricted free agent while Calgary avoided restricted free agency for three other players earlier this week by sending qualifying offers to forward Dane Dobbie, who led the NLL with 51 goals in 2014, along with transition player Peter McFetridge and forward Daryl Veltman.
