With the regular season opening on January 3rd, teams are making their final preparations for the 2009 season as training camps are winding down. Colorado hosted San Jose on Saturday night, in the final preseason game for both clubs. San Jose won in OT, 12-11. Stealth rookie Rhys Duch scored the game winning goal in overtime.
Josh Sims, one of the last members playing from the Colorado Mammoth's inaugural season in Denver, has announced his retirement.
The National Lacrosse League All-Star has played his entire eight-year career with the Mammoth franchise. In 109 regular season games with the franchise, Sims scored 189 points (86 goals, 103 assists) and tallied another 22 playoff points (14 g, 8 a).
