New England Black Wolves, FOX 61 Partner To Honor Veterans, First Responders

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (March 15, 2018) – The New England Black Wolves and FOX 61 will team up to honor the contributions made by Connecticut’s military personnel and first responders during the month of March.

The Black Wolves will celebrate Hometown Heroes Night on March 23 during a game against the Buffalo Bandits at Mohegan Sun Arena. Military personnel and first responders who provide proper ID can take advantage of special pricing – including a $15-dollar ticket and a $5 food voucher – by purchasing tickets at the box office on game day.

“We are proud to honor the contributions to our community made by our military personnel and first responders,” said Amber Cox, Vice President of the New England Black Wolves and Connecticut Sun. “Hometown Heroes is always a special night, and we are excited to partner with our friends at Fox 61 as we continue to grow this important initiative.”

FOX 61 has been recognizing first responders and military personnel who have made an impact in the local community through its Proud to Serve segments, broadcast monthly on the FOX 61 News at Ten. In addition, FOX 61 has awarded local first responders with the “Above & Beyond” award for their outstanding contributions. On March 23, FOX 61’s Above & Beyond honorees to date will be honored guests of the Black Wolves, and will be recognized during the game for their contributions to the community. In addition, the Black Wolves will play in special camouflage jerseys. Ben Goldman – FOX 61’s Proud to Serve correspondent – will serve as the guest of the game.

“FOX 61 proudly supports these men and women on the front lines every day committed to courageously serving our communities and country. We encourage everyone to join FOX 61 and the New England Black Wolves as we celebrate Our Hometown Heroes,” said FOX 61 News Director, Liz Grey Godbout.
