PHILADELPHIA’S NATIONAL LACROSSE LEAGUE TEAM REVEALS TOP THREE FINALISTS IN NAME-THE-TEAM CONTEST

FANS ENCOURAGED TO PICK WINNER ON LINE AT PHILLYLAX2018.COM

(Philadelphia, PA – October 17, 2017) Comcast Spectacor, the owner of Philadelphia’s new National Lacrosse League franchise, today revealed the top three finalists in the name-the-team contest. After receiving more than 5,100 entries since the contest began on September 14, the top three nominations are (in no particular order) the Philadelphia Fire, the Philadelphia Founders, and the Philadelphia Wings.

Fans can select their favorite choice at www.phillylax2018.com through Monday, November 13. The winning name and logo will be revealed after the votes are tallied.

“There is a lot of excitement for the return of professional lacrosse in Philadelphia as evidenced by the number of entries, the more than 800 people who have already reserved season tickets, and the number of companies expressing an interest to partner with us,” said Lindsey Masciangelo, Executive Director, Business Operations, Philadelphia’s lacrosse team.

Comcast Spectacor will select one entry in the name-the-team contest and award the contestant with two season tickets to the inaugural season, exclusive team access, and a $500 gift card to Dunkin’ Donuts.

The team will commence playing at the Wells Fargo Center beginning with the 2018-19 season.

Fans can place a deposit for season ticket memberships for the nine home games during the team’s inaugural season, 2018-19, by visiting www.phillylax2018.com. Placing a deposit will guarantee fans the best seats in the arena, as seat selection will be determined by date of deposit. Season ticket membership, which begins at $135, includes exclusive benefits such as team access and exclusive events.
