The Knighthawks Look To End Losing Skid Against Buffalo

The past 3 weeks have not been kind to the Rochester Knighthawks. Since their season opening win against the Philadelphia Wings the Knighthawks have lost 3 straight (1-3). The Knighthawks are coming off their season long 3 game road which saw loses to Buffalo, San Diego, and Saskatchewan. The Knighthawks in that span were outscored 37-21 and look to see if some home cooking this weekend against the Buffalo Bandits (4-1) can spark the offense.

The last time the Knighthawks faced the Bandits they were dominated in all aspects of the game. Former Knighthawks goalie Matt Vinc now playing for the Bandits faced 59 shots and saved 55 which resulted in a 13-4, Bandits win.

The Knighthawks will look to players like Cody Jamieson, Kyle Jackson, Austin Shanks, and Joe Resetarits to keep up their strong starts going to help carry the offense. Cody Jamieson leads all Knighthawks players with 18 pts (7G, 11A). Resetarits (5 G, 10A) is one goal away from his 100th goal as a Knighthawk. Shanks (3 G, 7A) and Jackson (7 G, 3A) both have 10 pts. Look to see Angus Goodleaf in the net for the Knighthawks on Saturday night. Goodleaf in his first 4 games as the Knighthawks starter has posted a line of 46 GA, 11.53 GAA, 159 SV, and .776 SV%.

Face off is set for 8:00 p.m. this Saturday, Jan 26. Also this Saturday the Knighthawks, in conjunction with Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) and Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, will be holding the 5th annual Military Appreciation Night at Blue Cross Arena. The Knighthawks and Bandits will both be wearing special military-themed jerseys.

Fans can go online to Knighthawks.com/auction to bid on the jerseys. All proceeds from the game will benefit the VOC.
