Trade: Mammoth Sends Picks To Swarm For Flint

With the 2015 NLL trade deadline looming at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday afternoon, the Colorado Mammoth and Minnesota Swarm have announced a trade with the Mammoth acquiring forward Cameron Flint from the Swarm in exchange for second and third round selections in the 2016 NLL Draft, pending league approval.

Flint, a University of Denver alum, also won a gold medal for Team Canada in July. He joins six national team members on the Mammoth roster, including former college teammate Jeremy Noble who Colorado acquired earlier this month.

“I loved watching Cam play for the Pioneers and I enjoyed getting to know him last summer at the World Lacrosse Championships,” said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. “Cam’s game fits extremely well with what our coaches are trying to accomplish.”

The 24-year-old from Georgetown, Ontario was the fourth-overall selection in the 2013 NLL Entry Draft by Minnesota. Colorado goaltender Dillon Ward was taken third.

“We were really hopeful that Cam could have played for the Swarm in 2015, but his work commitments have prevented this from happening,” said Swarm owner and governor John Arlotta. “He lives and works in Denver so this is a better situation all around for him.”

In 11 games played in his rookie season in 2014, Flint recorded 33 loose balls and nine forced turnovers. He chipped in with a goal and an assist. A captain and four-year starter at DU, Flint was the first Pioneer in school history to earn First-Team All-American honors from the USILA. He currently resides in Denver.
