Lacrosse fans, rejoice! If you’ve been patiently waiting to see your favorite NLL players back in action, you don’t have to wait any longer. A number of the best players from our league will be suiting up to represent their countries at the World Lacrosse Box Championships beginning Friday, September 20th in Utica, NY, and running until the 29th.
While Team Canada is made up entirely of NLL players, and both Team USA and Team Haudenosaunee are mostly pros as well, all three teams feature a pair of future NLL prospects in Joey Spallina and CJ Kirst, and Trey Deere and Koleton Marquis, respectively. Keep reading to see every NLL player participating listed below!
In addition to the men’s tournament, the WLBC will feature a women’s championship for the first time, featuring the best female lacrosse players on the planet. Twenty-eight men’s teams and 10 women’s teams will compete.
HISTORY
The first WLBC (formerly called the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship or WILC) was held in 2003 in Ontario. This will be the sixth year the WBLC has been played. The results have been the same at all five previous championships: Canada has won gold, the Haudenosaunee silver, and the USA bronze. In 2019, Canada won over Haudenosaunee 19-12 in Langley, BC.

All 133 games of both the men’s and women’s competition will be streamed live on WL TV, World Lacrosse’s new direct-to-consumer streaming platform.
