Syracuse legends Paul and Gary Gait were assigned to a Detroit Turbos team coming off a 1-7 season and turned them around to an 8-2 championship winning team (+48 goal differential). Their impact was immediately felt across the league and would for years to come. Gary led the league in assists (36) and points (68) while Paul led the league in goals scored (47).
