35 Moments: NLL Debuts on ESPN

MILL debuts on ESPN2 – 1/17/1994

The MILL reached a 6-year agreement with ESPN to have games broadcasted on ESPN2 in the fall of 1993. The deal included 12 games in 1994 to be aired on a tape delay along with the postseason. The game between the Detroit Turbos and Baltimore Thunder would air for the first time on ESPN2 on Monday, January 17, 1994, even though the game was played on January 8, 1994. A young Steve Dietrich was in net for Detroit and would get game MVP as the Turbos would go on to win 15-8. The Championship Game in 1994 would air live on ESPN, marking the live broadcast of the MILL/NLL on ESPN.
