35 Moments: Rose Scores Two Goals in a Season

Nick Rose Scores Two Goals in a Season – 3/25/2017

The first recorded goalie goal in the NLL was scored on January 26, 1988 by Jim Beardmore. Since then, only a handful of goalies have recorded a goal for their entire careers.

Nick Rose would record his first goal of 2017 on February 18 at Rochester to seal the win for the Rock in a 10-6 game. Six games later, Rose found himself in a similar situation and buried his second goal of the season against the Vancouver Stealth in a 13-7 win. Both goals were unassisted. The dual threat goaltender would also lead NLL in goals against average (10.82) and minutes played (1019) by a goalie in 2017.

Rose would finish tied for 122nd in the NLL in goals scored in 2017, scoring the same number as players like Dan MacRae, Cam Holding, and even John Grant Jr. He is recorded with three shots on the season for a .667 shot percentage. His 10 points on the season was tied for 104th in the NLL, tied with players such as Graeme Hossack and Ryan Dilks and better than teammates Challen Rogers, Billy Hostrawser, and Brad Kri.

Rose has scored 3 goals in his NLL career, tying him for 2nd all-time by a goalie (Rob Blasdell – 4)
