In the NLL’s all-important Week 10, we witnessed the league’s top teams demonstrate why they have achieved their high status. Fans throughout North America were treated to incredible offensive performances, and dedicated defensemen and goaltenders leading their teams to victory. What a weekend of box lacrosse!

Friday night’s early matchup featured fierce rivals with the Saskatchewan Rush and Calgary Roughnecks taking the field in front of more than 13,000 fans at Scotiabank Saddledome, on an unseasonably warm night in Canada’s energy hub. Propelled by the dynamism of the home crowd, the local guys jumped out to a 3-0 first quarter lead. Understanding that they now had a battle on their hands, the league’s top team elected to kick the festivities into high gear, rattling off the next seven goals, with two each delivered courtesy of Robert Church, Zach Manns and Austin Shanks. Carrying a 7-3 lead into the half, the outcome was never in doubt as Saskatchewan cruised to a 14-8 win. Winners of six straight games, the Rush dominated in all phases, outshooting Calgary 63-34, while tracking down 28 more loose balls and securing 19 of 26 faceoffs. The six-goal conquest did involve some chippiness including a fight between Jake Boudreau and Mathieu Gautier.

Rush Stars Put on a Show
Austin Shanks and Zach Manns were otherworldly with Shanks posting four goals and five assists and Mann’s four-goal, three-helper effort. Robert Church procured two goals and six assists, while Ryan Keenan added two scores and five dishes to his buddies.
Quiet Night for the Hosts
Tanner Cook notched a hat trick, along with one assist, while Tyler Pace assisted on four of his team’s eight goals.

In the second half of a home-and-home series with the Philadelphia Wings, the San Diego Seals followed up last weekend’s 9-7 win in America’s birthplace with a solid 13-7 triumph, back home amid a beautiful 79-degree sun-soaked Southern California day. The Wings boogieboarded to a 4-2 advantage at the end of the first, courtesy of Joe Resetarits and Michael Sowers. Down two after the first stanza, the SoCal dudes completely flipped the switch, connecting for a 10-goal run that turned the Wings’ dream start into a nightmare for their sixth consecutive loss. Like the Rush dominating the intangibles race in their Friday win over the Roughnecks, the Seals did the same, outshooting Philadelphia 62-41, while acquiring a whopping 31 more loose balls and preserving 18 of 24 faceoffs, thanks to the wizardry of faceoff extraordinaire Trevor Baptiste.
The Seals Were Equal Opportunity
Connor Robinson played his best game since becoming a Seal with three goals and three assists, with Tre Leclaire adding a hat trick. Ben McIntosh had a goal and four assists, while Zach Currier, Dylan Watson, and Pat Kavanagh each found the back of the net twice. Chris Origlieri was strong between the pipes, barricading 34 of 41 blasts.
Wings Working to Find Their Rhythm
Joe Resetarits had a hat trick and an assist, becoming the first American-born player to hit the 900-point milestone. Michael Sowers supplied two and two for the struggling Wings.

In the latest test of just how good the new look Colorado Mammoth are playing, the three-time defending champion Buffalo Bandits landed at Ball Arena and were subsequently treated to the mountain men’s most resounding landslide of the season. With more than 9,000 fans going crazy in the stands, Colorado extended their record to 5-0 since the arrival of Jack Hannah, enroute to a 20-9 rout, which ties a franchise record for most goals scored in a single game. Playing without leading scorer Will Malcom, the Mammoth sped to a 6-0 lead, with Andrew Kew and the previously noted Hannah delivering five of the six lamplighters. During a stretch of second and third quarter play, COL produced another six-goal run, turning a 12-4 halftime lead into the 11-goal drubbing of the reigning kings of the sport. Aside from Colorado’s scoring prowess, a third-quarter fight between Thomas Vela and Dylan Robinson further brought the Denver crowd into a frenzy.
Andrew Kew Was Unstoppable
The former Swarm star finished his evening with a whopping seven goals and four assists, making it 21 points in his last two games. Hannah scored two goals and an impressive seven assists, rookie Braedon Saris attained three goals and four helpers and Dylan McIntosh posted four goals and one assist. Dillon Ward and Nathan Whittom split time in goal, with the wily veteran fortifying 30 saves in 45 minutes, as the young backup barred 10 shots from crossing the goal line as he took over in the fourth quarter.

Rough Night for the Bandits
Dhane Smith and Josh Byrne were relatively quiet on this mile-high Saturday night, with the pair of legends combining on three goals and five assists. Tehoka Nanticoke added two goals and three assists in the devastating defeat. Matt Vinc was pulled late in the second after allowing 11 goals. Backup Evan Constantopoulos did not fare much better, allowing nine goals on 26 shots.

The Vancouver Warriors began the first game of a home-and-home exchange with the Rochester Knighthawks, defeating them 16-6 at Blue Cross Arena. Rochester lost starting goalie Rylan Hartley nine minutes into the game for an illegal bodycheck match penalty, and the Warriors jumped on the discombobulated defense and backup Riley Hutcraft immediately. They connected on three straight scores in the first, four straight in the second, followed by an astounding eight straight goals between the second and third frames, dominating the entire game. All told, 76 penalty minutes were handed out in this one. It will be very interesting to see if any bad blood remains in the air when these two squads tussle next weekend in British Columbia.
The Warriors Filled Up the Stat Sheet
Keegan Bal dolloped a magnificent 11 assists, along with two goals. Jesse King bestowed five scores and three helpers, Curtis Dickson did his part with four and four, while Marcus Klarich and Adam Charalambides each furnished two goals and three assists. Christian Del Bianco was awesome protecting the twine, denying 44 of 50 shots.
The Knighthawks Were Nowhere to Be Found
Ryan Smith posted two goals and one assist, while Connor Fields and Ryan Lanchbury coalesced on two scores and six helpers on a night Rochester hopes to quickly put behind them.

Courtesy of the 4th annual Wayne Gretzky Night jersey giveaway and a highly anticipated father/son matchup, a sold-out crowd packed Lee’s Family Forum to watch their Desert Dogs win a close 16-13 game over the FireWolves. The game marked the second time that Las Vegas head coach Shawn Williams and young Oshawa star Dyson Williams faced each other as opposition. The duel was a seesaw affair, as neither team led by more than two goals until the end. With the confrontation deadlocked 13-13 midway through the fourth, Las Vegas garnered the final three scores to give them a leg up in the Tucker Out Lymphoma Cup.
Las Vegas Dealt a Royal Flush
Mitch Jones represented the ace card, accomplishing four goals and five assists, with Chris Cloutier and Kyle Killen each laying down a hat trick, along with a combined six assists. Jonathan Donville pulled two scores and a half dozen helpers from the deck, while Adam Poitras flipped two goals and one assist. Chase Fraser left the game early with an injury.
Another Hard Luck Loss for Oshawa
Dawson Theede hit the Nevada night with three goals and four assists, reaching the 100-goal mark for his career. Dyson Williams safeguarded a hat trick, while Alex Simmons and Tye Kurtz combined on four goals and nine assists.

In this young Battle of Ontario matchup, the Toronto Rock dominated the Ottawa Black Bears via a resounding 17-10 thrashing of their provincial counterparts at TD Coliseum. Toronto scored four straight goals during two portions of the game, taking a 10-5 lead into the halftime break, while outscoring OTT 7-5 in the second half. The Rock played perhaps their best game of the season, wearing specially designed jerseys in honor of Indigenous Heritage Night.
Chris Boushy With an Enormous Night
The Rock forward found the back of the net five times, with Challen Rogers adding a hat trick and four assists to his already sterling resume. Mark Matthews delivered two goals and an astounding nine assists, CJ Kirst provided two and four, and Owen Hiltz and Josh Dawick pooled four scores and five helpers. Playing in place of the injured Nick Rose, Troy Holowchuk clogged 37 of 47 shots.

Teat Continues to Produce
Despite the seven-goal defeat, Jeff Teat added two goals and five assists to his stat line. Rob Hellyer scored three and assisted on another three, while Larson Sundown dispensed a hat trick.

Georgia’s goalie demonstrated his best Shohei Ohtani impression, hindering 47 of 54 shots while assisting on two of his team’s goals during the Swarm’s 11-7 win over the Halifax Thunderbirds. With a sold-out crowd at The Nest, Georgia lit the lamp on four of the night’s final five goals, turning a 7-6 halftime lead into a convincing four-goal celebration. In addition to his squad’s exploits on the field, Swarm sideline boss Ed Comeau became only the second person to coach 250 NLL games.
Nolan Byrne Left His Mark
The 21-year-old forward scored four of his club’s 11 goals. Shayne Jackson furnished three goals and two assists, with the great Lyle Thompson scoring once but contributing three helpers.
Slow Night in Downtown Halifax
Jason Knox harvested a hat trick, while Randy Staats had a pair of goals for the struggling T-birds. Faceoff specialist Jake Withers was strong at the dot, winning 19 of 21 faceoffs.
