Knighthawks Look To Finish Season On A High Note

With the Knighthawks at (2-10) the playoffs are pretty much out of the question being tied for last in the East Division. However, this is the part of the season where they can see what works for the team and was does not. This Saturday they take on the Calgary Roughnecks (6-7) at home. The Roughnecks are currently sitting in 3rd Place in the West Division.

While being in the West Division the Roughnecks stats are very average across the board. They sit one game below .500, have a -1 Goal Differential (141 GF, 142 GA), a .500 home record (3-3), and a below .500 away record (3-4). Even with being pedestrian for most of the season that is still good enough for Calgary to make the playoffs in the West Division.

The East Division currently has 4 teams out of their 6 with winning records compared to the West only having 2 teams with winning records out of their 5. For example, New England (7-4) who is currently in 4th place in the East would be tied for the best record in the West with San Diego. Even with the West having 1 less team it is clear the East has been the better division this year.

One Positive the Knighthawks can see this late in the season is Chris Boushy. Coming from Colorado in exchange for a 4th round pick looks like a pretty good deal after two games and could be a key player in the Knighthawks future. Boushy would finish with 9pts (7G, 2A) in his Knighthawks debut against the Georgia Swarm. Boushy then had another 2 goals in the loss to Toronto. So look for Boushy to have another strong outing vs the Roughnecks.

This Saturday, March 23, is the Knighthawks Fourth Annual “Knight of Beer’ Night. Tickets for the event start at $40 which also comes with a valid game ticket. The event runs from 3:30-5:30pm with breweries from all over NY participating. There will be live music and $2 draft specials pregame before faceoff. The game is set to faceoff at 7:30pm at the Blue Cross Arena
