Mammoth’S Crawford Wins ‘Air Canada Wingman’ Again In Week 10

The National Lacrosse League has announced Colorado Mammoth forward Callum Crawford as the “Air Canada Wingman of the Week” award winner for Week 10 of the 2016 NLL season.

Crawford recorded eight assists and 10 points, both game-highs, to go along with two fourth-quarter goals including the game winner as Colorado improved its league-best record to 8-2 with a 14-13 win over the New England Black Wolves this past Saturday. The 31-year-old leads the league with 47 assists and is second in NLL scoring with 65 points in 10 games played. Crawford’s 17 power play assists are tops in the NLL while his three game-winning goals are second-most. He also ranks tied for 10th among all forwards with 42 loose balls while his 18 goals are 17th-most in the league.

The award marks the second Wingman win of the season for the Ottawa, Ont. native, who earned the honor in Week 3 after a nine-assist performance, the highest single-game total by an NLL player so far this year.

Crawford joined the Mammoth during the offseason after six seasons with the Swarm, where he had five-straight 70-plus point seasons from 2010-2014 and finished as the franchise’s all-time leader in goals, assists and points. The 10-year NLL veteran played collegiately at Dowling College and was selected in the second round (18th overall) of the 2005 NLL Draft. Crawford was named to the NLL All-Pro Second Team in 2013.

Air Canada is the Official Airline Partner for the NLL. Each week, an NLL player will receive the “Air Canada Wingman of the Week” award based on their performance on the turf with respect to passing prowess and playmaking abilities. The weekly award winners will be entered into the pool of finalists for the “Air Canada Wingman of the Year” award at the end of the season.
